  • When is a Code Update Certificate or Continuing Educational Units (CEUs) required ?

    • It varies State to State.   Some States require the Code update anually and others require the Code update every so many years. 

    Electricians should contact their licensing authority for specifics regarding State renewal requirements.

  • Do I have to take the update class now ?

    • Not unless you need it to meet your State's renewal requirement.

    Personally we believe it is wise to do it now.

    • We are approved by many States.

    Our Code Update classes began many years ago in Michigan and are fully approved by the State of Michigan, and other States are added to our select State list monthly.

  • What Code is required?

    • For most States, the 2008 NEC is the current Code of record.  Since Code acceptance versions vary from State to State, please contact your local State electrical authority.

     
  • Can someone without good computer skills take the class?

    Yes.
    If you can read this, then you will be able to handle the class just fine. We will help you get started.  It is so easy.

  • What do I need to attend the class ?

    • Access to any PC or Apple Mac connected to the internet.  You also need an e-mail account.   It's very easy and very simple.


  • Do I have to follow a schedule ?

    • No.

    You decide when and how much time you spend each time you login to the class.

    Spend as little or as much time as you want each class session.

    Your the boss.  Login whenever you want. 

    Students have full control and students determine their own class schedule. 

    What matters is that you follow the class material and accumulate the State required class study time.


  • How much time does it take to complete the class?

    • Each class is customized to comply with your State and the number of class hours required vary depending on your State's reruirements.
     
     
  • Can I take the class from a computer at work AND a computer at home ?

    • Yes.

    You may login to the class from any PC or Mac connected to the internet.  You can take the class from home and work and wherever else you wish. 

    Whenever and wherever.   You decide.

     
  • When are the classes available ?

    • Classes are available 24/7.

    Registered students have full access to the class for two months.   Take the class when you want.


  • Can I get help, if I need it ?

    • Yes.

  • What books will I need ?

    • While NOT required, it is recommended you have access to a NEC Code Book.

     
  • Do I have to buy a Code book ?

    • No.

    You should have access to the Code book, but it is not required. If you do not already have a book, some student borrow it, use one from a library, purchase or view online for free.  It's completely up to you.

  • Is a "separate or proctored test" required to complete the online class to get a completion certificate ?
